The Interview: First Black Security Pug at the Nelson.

Rose was uncertain of many things about her new job, though she had not actually secured the position. But, she felt sure she might have some sort of uniform. She wore her best collar on the day of the interview. It was a small  red leather strap with polished silver heart conchos that encircled her neck. The interviewer people took her into a spacious room where she waited for a moment before they motioned for her to sit. Or did they…


Now….hmmm….Was this a “Welcome” hand exclamation? A wave towards a chair in which she should leap…? It WAS a Barcelona chair and while strange for an interview, she stood for a minute, admiring the sloping sides and tufted leather seat.


Or, was it a command with flat hand moving in a downward motion gesture as in, “SIT, ROSE.”


Oh, the subtleties of Museum Folk, she thought to herself.


Then, she took a deep cleansing breath and walked across the polished concrete to the interviewing pair, her toenails, click, click, clicking.


But, before she did (opt to, yes, on the floor) ‘SIT’, she just barely sprinkled her front paws lightly over the floor in a brief tap dance, just slightly lifting her pug torso.


It was very very “Merry” in ever way!
